Just returned from Thursday thru Sunday trip to BL. Caught lots of perch, some on worms and some on jigs. Most caught in Uper Deep and Goose Bays. Buddy caught a couple Northerns in Upper Deep Bay on Fridaywith shiners. Guy in my boat got a 14" crappie behind Snake Island on a minnow Sat. AM. Got 2 Catfish and a shephead in Upeer Deep. Everybody said fishin was not as good as last year. A guy in our camp got a 31" and 21" northern Saturday but don't know where on Lake. Friday a few guys in camp got Northern on pink mepps but I don't know where on Lake. Sorry I can't help more. Good luch to all giving the Lake a try. A bad day fishin at BL is still better than the best almost anywhere else.

While ice fishing off Raspberry Island last Feb a guy in our group caught a perch about 9" that spit up a zebra mussel or 2. I've never heard of perch eating them before. This was probably just freakish. They say the sheepshead in Lake Erie eat them and I know a lot of guys who now handle them with kid gloves. Right or wrong most guys used to either kill em or take them home for fertilizer. Are there any sheepshead in Black Lake. I've never caught one.
