My Dad and I will be going up to Black Lake in May, 19-22. We use to fish the lake often but it has been a few years. Staying at Bayview.

My buddies and I will be up there the week before you . . . May 11th - 15th . . . Staying at the Log Cabins.
Too bad for you that you won't catch much . . . cause all the fish will have sore mouths ;D ;D
Just kidd'n. Hope you make a killing.

Sore mouths would be OK, least we would know that we really, (should have been here last week). As the old saying goes. You guys have a great time. Next weekend we are heading up to Lake Ontario for some Brown Trout fishing. Hope the weather cooperates. If we can't get out into Mexico Bay we'll take the boat down to Oswego and fish the river and the harbor. Have a great time and keep those lines tight. I was having trouble staying loged on, or it would not reconize that I was loged on, until I shut down my cookie blocker, now it sees that I am registered.

Looks like my first trip up this year is sandwiched right in between you guys. Mon, the 16th to Thurs, the 19th. Wil be staying in a cabin that belongs to a friend of a friend on Rollaway Bay. MrSimon, you be considerate now and leave some of those crappies for us and I promise to do the same for wrsmsgt.

Its a deal! We're not much for crappie anyway . . . pike, walleye, and catfish are our game.

Fishing for crappies at that time of year we always manage to get into a few walleye, pike and bass. Even land a few on 2 & 4 lb test. Watta ball

Seems like it would never get here but tomorrow evening we head for Black Lake. Weather doesn't look too bad except for the forcasted northeast wind but you take what you get. Dad and I will be fishing out of Bayview in a 16' Black/Gray Alumacraft with a Merc. 75, 4 stroke and 5 Hp Nissan. Been thinking about pulling the boat out Sat. evening and heading down to Red Lake Sunday morning. Dad use to fish that back in the 50's and always had good stories and fond memories of the place.

with a north or a Northeast wind I would recommend you try a drift (or two) from Wood Island/Shoals area into or towards Orchard Bay......we have been lucky to have located some nice BIG Crappies here (almost) every time up the last few years, not to mention a few nice Walleyes as well. White seems to be the best color here for whatever reason....Last year "livebait" nailed several 14in slabs.....one was a tad under 15in !!
