Ok I have alway fished with 12# test or lighter mono/except for 2 rods I have gorrila braid on. I dont have a prob with the line having a coil to it when It hits the water. This year i thought I would go with 1 rod with 25lb on it to be able to fish real thick cover. My prob is the line looks like a slinky on the water and doesnt really straighten out unles I pull real hard on the line. Is this typical or is there anything that will take the memory out of the line so it lays out while in and on the water so I can feel the strikes? thanks in advance Craig

WHY NOT JUST USE A SUPERBRAID LIKE FIRELINE? THERE AREN'T ANY 25LB MONOS THAT I KNOW OF THAT WON'T EVENTUALLY GIVE YOU A MEMORY PROBLEM.
YOU CAN USE A 50LB TEST SUPERBRAID THAT'S A FRACTION THE DIAMETER OF 25 LB MONO, HAS NO MEMORY AND NO STRETCH IN HEAVY COVER.

I also spray my line with a product called Reel Magic. It really helps control the loops.

I like the braided lines too. A soft bottm feels different than rocks. You can tell if you pick up the slightest bit of weed even on a jig. Great stuff, and little or no stretch.

I'm using spyderwire on everything except 8lb mono on my ultralite. As far as it tearing up eyes, I say so what??? I never spend alot on poles anyhow.
