I was doing the yard sale tour Memorial Day Weekend (didn't find any good fishing gear, but got a fine pair of binoculars!) and wound up meeting some folks that vacation annually at BL. They and their friends swear the fishing is better at the north end by the bridge or even north of the bridge. Obviously, lots of you like going to the bays in the southern end. So make your case... which has better fishin'?

PS Nine days and and counting 'til our family fish out BL!!! (Aren't you glad my clan does a lot of catch and release?)

in my opinion, I prefer the Southern area...........maybe cause I have fished it more. But structurewise I think it has a greater amount of the type areas I personally like to concentrate on (ie:more shoals including the Islands than north, deeper water that north, I have had terrific success on the Rocky points rec'g wind. This is not to say I don't fish the Northern end, with pretty good success as well. Overall as said in one of my other posts.....if you are fishing the northern end it is the better half of the lake....if you are fishing the Southern end then it is the better half of the lake ..... still counting it down here, should be arriving close to this time on Monday.

Up until this year I would have said the South end rules. But after this year I don't know. We caught 21 pike before 10:00am in lower big bay this year. Good quality too.

I fish all over the place but in the North end have luck right in front of the Farm tight to shore and in upper big bay. Just past upper big bay is a rock that we call 5 lb rock not on the map but we have had many 5 lb bass taken at it. I think the south end has more people fishing it so I wait till the week to go there. GOOD LUCK I leave in 2 hours.
