Many many years ago a charter captain on Lake Ontario told my dad that he also had a kid that didn't like the taste of fish. Being a charter boat captain meant that they had fish at least 3 times a week.
His suggestion to get me to eat more fish was to fillet all the bones out, take the skin off and cut the Bass into small chunks. Then you soak the chunks in a bowl of salt water, rinse and repeat in a fresh bowl of salt water, about six to 12 hours of soaking (split evenly between bowls of salt water 3/3 or 6/6).
To cook you simmer the fish in a pot of fresh water until it's just cooked through. Served with melted butter it tastes almost like Maine lobster, which I love.
Hey, I can't help it that I love lobster and shrimp and hate fish and bones.

Man, and to think you could have avoided all that by fishing for walleye or perch instead of bass lol

Walleye are great when you can find them. Perch are okay, but as I said I hate bones - and they're a bit fussy. I fish bass tournaments for the fun and excitement - plus it's a gauranteed boat and guide for a reasonable price. If you've got a belly up fish you can trash him or it (eat - I really meant eat) him - and a recipe that makes a fish taste like shrimp or lobster is better than walleye any day, in my book. Besides it's an excuse to have a few beers while the fish soaks. Not that I need an excuse....

I try not to take anything said on the internet to seriously. Be sure to use the melted butter - it's bad for your heart, but it makes the whole thing worth while.
Speaking of fish bones - one of the few fish I do eat is processed patties at fast food places. On my way back from a tournament last Saturday I stopped at Burger King and got a spicy fish sandwich - just to try one out. My second bite I got a mouthful of bones.
Just when you think it's safe to eat out....
You would think by now that I would have learned to only eat at places that serve alcohol.
