I ve fished the delaware use to enter the 911bas angler tourny every year. it is a good river to fish just watch the tides their are a lot of coves that you can get in under high tide but if your not watchin will leave you high and dry when the tide goes out. if Im not mistaking the river has like a 6-8' tidal change. The tide does affect all the way to Trenton. It is easily 8ft as far up stream as Bordentown. I've seen boats in Tullytown and Roebling coves get stuck on the mud for an entire tide change just for not paying attention.

It almost caught us once but we were able to lift the main motor and trolling motor out LOL

Hey Ridge, You're right about the size of the lakes down here. The Stripers are hitting bloodworms and live herring in the river now. Some nice ones taken this past week. The Delaware River is one of the few places that I can launch the boat without breakin' my a** getting it back on the trailer.

If you get the opportunity go up near the "Trenton Makes , The World Takes" bridge and throw around a big gold rattle trap or big golden spoon. There is a great chance in that area to hook into a 20+ lb striper. If the herring are running then the shad can't be far behind. Have fun

Ridge, That area is is a good spot. I don't know if it was reported anywhere else, but there was a Beluga whale that took up residence in the Delaware River maybe 2 weeks ago. Some expert said it came all the way from the mouth of the St. Lawrence Seaway. It had markings on it that he could I.D. Talk about LOST!!! They figured he was feeding on the herring.

Getting stuck between Philly & Trenton ain't my idea of fun.. Did they finally get him back to salt water?? Saw it here in New York on the news and have been wondering how it made out.. I'll bet he scared the hell out of some smallmouths. lol

???Where am I from .... Originally, Reading, Penna and for those that know Reading I am actually from West Reading. BTW dale3fan3 it's actually spelled Schuylkill. Than as some of you will remember me, Black Lake or to be more specific Sunnyside. Where am I today? As Willie Nelson sang "On The Road Again" in my 5th wheel. Just traveling here and there. Sometime in June I will probably be heading up to my favorite lake. Anyone wanna guess where that may be?
