went to my favorite 8 acre pond w/o boat and fished off shore......unfortunately my 1st time out fishing for anything this season! Well it was well worth the effort in 2.5 hrs of walking the banks and casting I was able to land 4 Pickerel (largest was 17in) and broke water 4 times on 4lb test ultralite. Lost at least 4 more pikerel by biting off my line. Caught 8 LM...biggest 2.7lbs, again on ultralite. was casting 3X strike King "Zulu" jerkbaits w/o weight and floating along pockets of cover and had a ball ! Plus this doesn't count the ones I miissed as a result of MY timing....I really can't wait till next week! Look out Black lake we will be invading your waters in mere 120hrs.

Went out on small local lake last evening and got a fine mess of crappie and big bluegill. Kept just enough for the first fish fry of the season.
Almost every fish we caught was fat as could be with eggs, so the spawn is obviously on in a big way in northeast PA. Heard anything about the spawning season at BL? We'll be there in just 10 days!!!

well i got out to jim`s farm pond this last weekend(had a nice dinner the night before for his daughter becca`s graduation) nice little pond jim had a couple nice large mouth on but he said his timing was off. i think the beer the night before had something to do with it. i could only get a couple of slaps from my fly. that was it. very warm and very little air movement. but a great looking fish-hole.

i have access with a row boat with trolling motor at a lake in clarks summit NE PA. I'm not joking when i say this either and its not a typo me and my Father bring in about 40-50 large mouth bass each in about 3 hours. Most of them are just under 12 inches but we pick up about 10 around 14. Not big but boy is it fun to just to catch that m,any bass. The only thing that sucks is when u go to a different lake when u get used to fishing there and only catch a few.

BassMaster08, it sounds like your farm pond has stunted fish. If it is your pond or if you know the owners you should have a fish fry. Get a bunch of kids over to fish out almost all of those 10 inchers and fry 'em up. That way the 14 inchers will grow bigger and eat the smaller fish. Bringing the pond back into balance will benefit everything but the 10 inchers that you eat. Of course this is all unsolicited advice. Catching a 10 inch fish every 3 minutes can be fun too. I actually like a pond like yours to practice new techniques on and to workout new lures. If I lived closer I'd be bold and ask for directions.
