bring your waders and I'll drop you off and you can fly fish for Crappies and MAYBE I'll even return to pick you up !! Does sound like you are getting enough practice anyways......best yet with some success.

took the boat out to the reservoir this am. had a ball with the flyrod. those blue gills would not leave that gold bead head fly alone. i figure if the gills are attracted to it then maybe the crappies will be. also landed two 12 in. smallies again, same fly pattern. but all early am. action, then the wind came up and the fishing action stopped.

WELL VENTURED OUT ON FRIDAY EVENING TO TRY A LITTLE FLY FISHING. NO TROUT, BUT FOR SOME REASON THE RIVER SMALLMOUTH WERE ATTACKING THE GOLD-BEADHEAD GREEN #10 NYMPH. WELL 2 HOURS LATER I LANDED AT LEAST 7 ALL WITHIN 9-11 IN. MUST OF LOST 7OR 8 MORE. NOTHING THAT WOULD MAKE THE BRAGGING BOARD. BUT FOR ANYONE WHO FLY FISHES THAT IS A NICE BATTLE TO CATCH RIVER SMALLIES ON A FLY ROD. I USE ONLY AN 8FT. ROD WITH A 5-6WF. LINE AND A 2LB. TIPPET. I WILL CONTINUE TO FLY FISH RIGHT TO THE CLOSING DATE. WHAT IS NICE THERE ARE SOME STREAMS CLOSE BY WITH NO CLOSING DATE. SO I COULD BE FISHING RIGHT UP TO LATE NOVEMBER,GREAT!!!!!! IF FOR SOME REASON I DON`T POST AGAIN UNTIL SPRING `06, EVERYONE HAVE A SAFE,WARM AND COMFORTABLE FALL-WINTER.

The browns never really ran in my local river out of the Wallenpaupack due to low water. After all this rain we hoped that it would be a delayed run, but if they did, they were really sneaky about it. I watched a guy fishing the Lackawaxen on wed. Was in a hole up to his armpits. He was using caddis nymphs and stone flies. Black with a little gold. Took 5 while I was watching. They are supposed to be doing well on the upper Delaware above Equinock. As long as it stays somewhat stable, you should manage a few. Big swings in temps from one day to the next will goof them up a bit. They're in there, just got to coax them out.
