FISHNGUY Didn't have the oportunity for bone fish but did some reef fishing and had a blast. Caught every kind of snapper, parrot fish even a few small groupers.. My wife almost had her arm broke when a shark slammed her arm down on the side of the boat as it took all but the head of a snapper she was reeling in. even if the fish don't co-operate you'll have a great time In Turks & Caicos. We stayed at the Beaches Resort. Where are you staying??

We will be staying at one of the villas in Providencials. I was wondering if you can just find a nice piece of shoreline and walk out or if you need a boat to reach certain flats. FISHNGUY

FISHNGUY The area we stayed wasn't what I'd call a flat but it was a beautiful beach. There were fish swimming by our little piece of heaven everyday. A few looked like bones but couldn't be sure.. Sure would like to get down there again. Talked to our guide for the reef fishing and he told me that a new outboard only last about six months before it has to be replaced. The salt content of the water is alot higher then it is around Jersey or New York. Have a great trip and catch some bones.

Sorry to keep you in suspense! We stayed in the five keys villa at Turtlepiont which is in the south eastern section of the island. We were right across the street from Flamingo Lake and Turtle lake. We were able to fish about 1/4 mile out right behind the house. I'm sorry to say that we didn't knock them dead but this was not just a fishing vacation. We did manage to track down a school of about 20 bones and my father-in-law landed one. I had one one but it didn't last. Their reputation as fighters is no lie! Pop also had a four foot barracuda on the line for all of about three seconds. 6lb test and razor sharp teeth don't mix. The guy from Walker's kay chronicles was there. I should have followed him.
