Living in Western NY, I spend a lot more time on the big water than I do on Black Lake. The early bass season is awesome, but entirely different type of fishing than Black Lake fishing. We generally troll on or around Seneca Shoals where the water goes from 30 ft to quite a large flat of about 15 ft and a smaller hump of about 12 ft. Catch a ton of smallmouth with the largest last year of 6 lbs. This year I am determined to drift more and catch em on light tackle.
