Looks like I may have made my last forray to Black Lake, and it's been about a year and a half now as it is, for a very long time.
The home front situation has deteriorated to the point that my girlfriend (and mother of our 4 mo. old daughter) has decided to go back to her family's in Peoria, IL. Having a strong desire to be a part of raising my daughter and knowing that the only real thing holding me here is my job (and for anyone in sales, this is the dream job you'd NEVER want to get rid of), I guess I have to follow suit. The lack of support from my family, amoungst many other things have made it hard to not want to go somewhere and be around people that support us and have our daughter's best interests at heart make it a tough decision, but a logical one.
the final straw was my brother's continued monopolization of the house at the lake, forcing us to cancel the plans we had with my girl's parents to go up there this Labor day weekend when they come to Buffalo to visit.
(If you know us, you know my brother has a party there every holiday, every single year since we've owned the place and has never once ceeded to my plans for those weekends... Yeak Keith, I know you come here and it's YOU I'm talking to, specifically!)
This board, which was supposed to be an example of what a well managed and organized board could be like has taken a back seat to the official board, but the regulars here make it a real community.
Once I get to Illinois and get setup with the internet, etc, I'll be more active running the board. In the meantime, you good people, in the time I've been away have made it a board that runs itself.
Thank you for that!!!
So, anyhow, Since it's about 1000 miles from Peoria to Black Lake, I doubt I'll making that trip anytime soon.
Next fishing report from me should be from somewhere in central Illinois!!
Tight lines, guys!
