Suggestion for walking the dog... If you can get your hands on one try a Berkley frenzy walker (They aren't in production anymore). This is one bait you can "walk" through a tsunami. Come to think of it there might still be one hanging in a tree right by the docks of Dashnaw's camp Wildwood. Arkansas shiner if I remember correctly. Also, don't use flourocarbon lines with your top-waters as they tend to sink faster than mono and will kill the action or your lures. FISHNGUY Yes that is a good tip! I use 17lb mono when I use a spook. I also have some Cortland braided that works well.

FISHNGUY Another thing that helps when your trying to "walk the dog" is to use a rod thats 7 ft & med/ hvy. This really makes the job alot easier with a stiffer rod and a tip that is not as fast. The butt section on longer rods can lay against your forearm and helps with the action, takes some of the pressure off your wrist. And practice.

Basically, I jsut get a feel for it. You can jig, etc, but there's a certain "groove" that you get, and almost everytime I get that feeling, the water is breaking perfectly, the line feels right, and then, you just KNOW, BOOM!!! It happens! Big Largemouth swallows it!!!

Hey Dale3fan3, Checked my inventory of Frenzy Walkers and I still have a bunch (I used to be a field rep. for Pure Fishing). If you can't find one on the shelves look for the fire-engine-red triton with the jet drive (picture in boat threads). I'll gladly toss you one. And yes! I know what kind of responses I'm going to get to this one. But remember everyone, his picture is right in front of me. FISHNGUY

Hey moparfan, Why Cortland braid? Does it stay afloat better? I never tried it. FISHNGUY
