Don't care for the crowds but yesterday was a beautiful day so I went to a small pond that just went ice free this week. Using waxworms/glowicefishing jigs and a slip bobber I caught a bunch of really really nice bluegils and a bonus of 2 crappies. One was 12 1/2 inches. Made the wife take a picture of that one. What a great day. Maybe my brother will show me how to post the pic after we get it developed. Can't wait to hit Black lake may 1st. Going to finally get my motor tuned up before we go this year. See you on the water.

Wish we could hit the trout here, but the bad weather is making for class 5 rapids of chocolate muddy water.....

I hear ya about the chocolate milk. Our our streams here in SE PA are blown out. Its actually a good thing beacuse it keeps people off the streams after the recent stockings . . . lets the fish spread out and get situated. I'm looking forward to some good crappie fishing this Spring on a few of the smaller lakes around here. My wife yells at me because I never bring any trout home to eat - I guess shes not a catch and release girl But I don't mind keeping a mess of crappie - that should make her happy.

My thoughts exactly, as far as letting the stocked trout get to spreading out.

Yeah - it always bothers me a little to see a trout release with fifty guys 100 yards down stream pulling 'em right back out! They ought to charge $5 a head and let folks catch 'em in the hatchery tanks! Ha Ha! Can't say much though, since I don't do much trout fishing.
Had a ball a few years ago camping and casting Rooster Tails in the Smokey Mountains for trout. Water was gin clear and you could watch 'em darting after your spinner 10 yards away.
Don't fishin' make for good memories!
